Look what I got! My Bead Soup package arrived a couple of days ago and it was as magnificent all laid out on my work table as it was in the picture from Laural's blog (check it out here too). I am so impressed with her work with polymer clay. The Rose focal and especially that beautiful toggle are amazing. If you don't believe me make sure to take some time to check out Laurel's Etsy shop. I can see more of her toggle clasp's in JBird's Garden future.
So anyway I looked at the package of goodies Laurel sent for a night or two. Laid them out several different ways and wondered how I could incorporate all the different components she sent. Well after much pondering I finally came up with a design that I hope do the beautiful beads, focal and that TOGGLE justice and got to work. I did it! I completed the project. I keep looking at it wondering what I should change and have finally decided to leave it alone. I like it the way it is. I hope Laurel does too. The reveal is on February 1st. So be sure to check back to see the final project.
On another note someone asked me recently to share the template I use for the Pill Box's I use to ship my jewelry in. The boxes are really a nice touch and are perfect for giving a gift just as it is. So I am happy to share the instructions and templates for these wonderful little treasure boxes. The website belongs to Carolyn Hasenfratz and this is the link to the site with great easy-to-follow instructions along with downloadable templates in two sizes. Thank you Carolyn.
Lastly here's a necklace I made on a whim awhile ago. It's colorful and funky and totally whimsical. Not necessarily my style but what the heck. A little color goes a long way in the middle of winter...doesn't it? Now posted on Etsy

What do ya think?

Ooooh... that's very purty. Now see, that's what I imagine making when I succumb to buying gorgeous beads. I'm mostly a paper and paint person, but I like to pretend I could do something as lovely as this. Les pants... les pants... yummy...
Hmmmmm....I just may have to buy something from your Etsy to get one of your pillow boxes - I can never make them come out right - template or not!
Glad you like the beads and toggle - have to get some of those in my Etsy!
Let's see Laurel - you want pillow boxes...I want toggles...the wheels are turning!!! :)
BQ - les pants...perhaps I shall just refer to you from now on as 'Penelope La Cat'! meow
What a great party! I'm so happy to have found your blog...and can't wait to see what you've done with Laurel's goodies. :) I guess I have to check out these pill boxes too!!!!!
Welcome Jenny - Laurel's package arrived beautifully wrapped begging for attention!
As far as the pill boxes go, scroll down to see a few of my finished products. I wish I had more time to work on them. I really enjoy making them!
Love that toggle... What's it made out of?
For toggle information check out Laurel's blog at http://laurelsteven.blogspot.com/. I believe it's polymer clay. Beautiful isn't it?
That toggle is just beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone makes with their goodies.
